HEALTH ETHICS TRUST
A DIVISION OF THE COUNCIL OF ETHICAL ORGANIZATIONS

HET MEMBERSHIP

In response to growing ethics and compliance concerns in healthcare, the Council of Ethical Organizations formed the Health Ethics Trust in 1995.  The purpose of the Trust is to assist organizations and individuals committed to ethical and legal conduct through educational programs, research, and shared best practices.

The Health Ethics Trust sponsors a full agenda of ethics and compliance activities – such as the annual Healthcare Best Compliance Practices Forum. Trust members also have full privileges as members of the Council of Ethical Organizations.

HET ORGANIZATIONAL MEMBERSHIP

Organizational Membership in the Health Ethics Trust represents an organizational commitment to ethical and legal conduct. Unlike other the memberships of others, ALL employees of a member organization may participate in HET programs and access HET resources. Members direct HET's service activities including educational programs, research, and educational liaison activities through a variety of committees.

No organizational membership offers as broad an array of benefits as the HET organizational membership. Membership benefits include priority participation in member programs, audio/web conferences, access to HET's Benchmark Resources, access to members only section of HET web site, peer consulting, reduced tuition for all courses and publications, reduced charge for certification application and renewal

There are two levels of organizational membership.

Basic organizational membership includes all of the benefits described above and encompasses all employees of the member organization.

Premium organizational membership includes all the benefits of basic membership plus one day of on-site education or consulting at no cost (excluding travel expenses).

HET INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP

The HET individual membership program is designed for those leading a one-person compliance function and for those whose employer will not support an organizational membership. The Trust’s individual membership has shown rapid growth in recent years because we have worked hard to ensure the value of individual membership. If a member attends even one program in a given membership year, the cost of individual  membership will be fully recovered.

Benefits of individual membership include: priority participation in courses and programs and significantly reduced tuition, a complimentary subscription to The Pastin Report on Best Compliance Practices, periodic advising on ethics and compliance issues through email and/or telephone consultations with Council professional staff, access to members only area of our web site, free or reduced fee participation in quarterly audioconferences, peer consulting - an advisory service in which leading compliance officers from member organizations serve as advisors or reviewers for your organization, free or discounted access to the Trust’s Benchmark Resources, discounts on special products such as videos, training materials, and publications, application fees are waived for the Health Ethics Trust’s Certified Compliance Professional (CCP) status.
